Our Metodology

We believe that communities need to actively participate in the assessment and solution of their own problems. Our methods take the following into account :

  • That communities find solutions for their deeply felt necessities
  • To start small and slow, trying various options in cooperation with farmers and communities
  • To start first with the simple, then move towards the complicated
  • To set a standard of practical technology, using ideas that have been previously tested and found to be successful in similar social and physical conditions
  • To teach and learn through doing, cooperating with farmers and communities
  • To adhere to the principle of “teaching a man how to fish".
  • To promote community discussion and analysis, making sure to ask the right questions and adequately problematize situations
  • To teach people how to problem-solve, so they can network, perform trainings amongst themselves, and better their lives.
  • To organize and distribute technical, legal, and social information, for the benefit of communities and their rights
  • To create socially-conscious and technologically capable people living in indigenous communities
  • To promote the formation of community organizations, who can then be used as examples by future communities
