For the year of 2010, MPS relies solely on external financial support to develop the following projects:

1.- “Institutional strengthening for the management, dissemination and incidence in matters of indigenous rights to territory and to the custody, control and sustainable use of their natural resources” (10,000 USD – January to December 2010 – FGHR: Fund for Global Human Rights).

2.- “Biofuels in Chiapas: risks and dangers for our community and Mother Earth” (Continuation and further investigation into the Working-class Dissemination Campaign spread throughout four regions within the state) (12,000 Euros – January 2010 to December 2010 – Salva la Selva (Rettet den Regenwald)).

As you may notice, as Maderas del Pueblo, we currently support ourselves with small funds of our own and few outside donations… and still lacking a security cushion for our 2011 maintenance. So in order to keep our work going, we complement our financial and material bundles with a small income from mainly selling our services of assistance, education/enabling and consulting, the sale of our products (books, leaflets, videos, herbal medicine) and the collaboration of volunteers and social service lenders.

Having said that, we would like to communicate to you that sadly, as doctors and lawyers say: all appointments bring about fees, even if these can be covered in kind (or barter); purchasing our products; exchanging valuable information and knowledge; conveying or – even better – hooking us up with potential donors; supporting our runs around communities; or – in the last case scenario – with a whole lot of fraternal vibes!!
